1. Maintenance points
Cleaning and rust prevention
After using the lithium reciprocating saw, the dust and moisture around the blade should be cleaned in time to prevent rust and malfunction. Pay special attention to checking the sealing of the gearbox (such as the dust-proof design of the reciprocating connecting rod) to avoid dust ingress.
The outer shell should be wiped with a soft cloth or soapy water. Corrosive solvents (such as gasoline and thinners) are prohibited to avoid damaging plastic parts.
Regular inspection
Check whether there is dust or debris accumulation on the tool and battery terminals, and make sure that the contact is good before and after operation.
Regularly check whether the motor is blocked by debris. Frequently used equipment needs to replace the carbon brush every six months to extend the life of the motor.
Lubrication and component maintenance
Key components such as bearings are usually pre-lubricated and no additional lubricating oil is required. If the bearing is found to be rusty or make abnormal noises, it needs to be replaced in time.
Wear protective gloves when replacing the saw blade and ensure that there are no residual debris on the tool holder.
Avoid improper operation
It is forbidden to disassemble the internal structure of the tool at will, especially the lock head, spring and other vulnerable parts, so as not to expand the damage.
Ensure that the blade is in close contact with the workpiece during cutting to avoid the tool from swinging without load.
2. Methods to extend battery life
Charge and discharge management
Avoid over-discharge: battery exhaustion will cause the protection mechanism to start, and long-term deep discharge may permanently damage the battery. It is recommended to charge when the remaining power is 20%-30%.
Disconnect the power in time after charging: remove the battery after full charge to avoid connecting the charger for a long time.
When storing for a long time, if it exceeds 30 days, it is recommended to keep the power at 30%-50% and recharge it every 6 months; some manufacturers recommend fully charged storage, please refer to the specific instructions.
Temperature control
The ambient temperature for use and storage should be below 40°C, avoid high temperature exposure or low temperature (such as <0°C) operation to avoid affecting battery activity.
Stop using the battery immediately when it is overheated, and charge it after cooling.
Physical protection and usage habits
Avoid physical impact (such as knocking, puncturing) on the battery to prevent leakage or explosion.
Use the original charger and prohibit mixing inferior charging equipment.
Avoid overload operation: If the motor stops due to overload, turn off the switch and eliminate the cause of overload.
Upgrade and replacement
Choose high-quality lithium batteries. If the battery capacity drops significantly or abnormalities occur (such as heating or deformation), replace it in time.
Some tools support battery expansion or upgrade technology (such as higher capacity batteries) to improve battery life
